Many of you know that my “thing” is to make elaborate-style jewelry, but recently I went off my usual beaten path and decided to create a necklace featuring one of my favorite stars of all time, drag queen “Divine” and one of my favorite movies of all time, John Waters’ cult classic “Female Trouble“!
This new 20.5″ necklace (re-sized upon request) is a one-of-a-kind original and it features 8 images from “Female Trouble” which are protected under sealed clear glass domes set in ornate Antique Silver bezels. The central focal piece is a 1″ x 1″ fluted Antique Silver bead which has a 6mm Swarovski round Crystal AB (Aurora Borealis) bead underneath. Each piece hangs from a silver tone link chain and has been completed with a lobster claw clasp (can be converted to toggle upon request). There is only one of these that I have made and it is something I won’t be duplicating.
Below you can see one image is of a fuming Dawn Davenport who is none too pleased that her husband Gator has not returned home yet again. Just above that is an image of Edith Massey as Aunt Ida, who appears to be flipping the bird and sticking her tongue out!
Above the Aunt Ida image is another of Divine as Dawn Davenport who has had acid thrown on her face by Aunt Ida for marrying her nephew, Gator. She wanted him to be gay, but he decided he liked the females, which didn’t make Aunt Ida too happy. Above the acid enduring Dawn is an image of Donald (David Lochary) and Donna (Mary Vivian Pearce) Dasher. In this image, Donna Dasher fears that rats are going to come out and bite her new nylons as they make their way to Dawn’s apartment. See that the bezel pendants are separated by 6mm faceted Czech crystal rondelles in Light Siam red.
On the other side of the necklace at the bottom is Dawn Davenport who has just made her entrance into the living room to greet Donald and Donna Dasher. Above that is Taffy, Dawn’s retarded brat daughter who is making lemon face after saying something snide to Gator, which I won’t mention here…
Above Taffy is Dawn Davenport as a teenager coming down the stairs on Christmas morning stating that she “better get them Cha Cha heels” (which sadly she did not get and ended up stomping on the gifts and knocking the tree over). Above that are Dawn’s partners in crime, Chiclet Fryer (Susan Walsh) and Concetta (Cookie Mueller).
This is a necklace that I had pure fun making and I hope that its future owner is just as happy with it.
I am offering it for $74.32, but there is still one more day to save 25% with coupon code LAST201325OFF!
